47. Eastburn Lane
Late in the 18th century the growing industrial needs of the village made it imperative that better communications should be
developed. An agreement was made on January 7th, 1798 for the sale of a portion of the common land in the village, for the
purpose of making a road which would connect Sutton with the main road to Skipton and Keighley.
The transaction was carried through in November of the same year and resulted in nearly £110 being available for the making
of the road. The road is good, but rather narrow and is not extensively used.
