20. County Rate 1584

During the year 1584 a County Rate was levied by the authorities, on this and other parts of the West Riding.

The document was headed:- "The Sessement for Ye Surveyor, 1584, West Riding Co. Ebor. Weapon de Stainclif".

The following are the particulars relating to the eight villages in the ancient parish of Kildwick. "Ffernhill 2/-, Selesden 3/-, Glysburne 2/-, Bradley 2/-, Kyldwyke 2/-, Collinge 2/-, Sutton 2/-, Steton 2/8."
