Bells to start the Olympics
Church Bells across the country will be rung at 8.12am for 3 minutes on Friday 27th July to herald the start of the Olympics. Although we only have one bell at St Thomas' it's going to be rung - so that Sutton can join in this wonderful sporting event. If anyone wants to join in by ringing other bells - then please bring whatever bells you want - handbells, bicycle bells etc - to the steps outside St Thomas' Church in time to join in. The more the merrier - and stay for a cuppa afterwards! |

I'm glad our village is going to be doing this I saw a bit about it on the TV last week, alas i'll be getting ready for work at that time but hopefully i'll be able to hear the bells as I get ready.
Hope everyone has fun! |

Well I hope there were plenty of bells ringing in the village - we got up at 5.30am to watch the opening of the Olympics - it was stunning - The next couple of weeks will have a lot of late nights and early mornings methinks. |

Good to see that Great Britain & NI are currently 4th in the medal table after the first week of action. Had to go a long way down the list to find Australia sat in 19th place. Now I know why the Skippy's have gone quiet on me which is not their usual style. |
