Teenage gangs on Halloween night
This bonfire night was what can only be described as a night of terror for my 70 year old mother on manse way.
In short, gangs of teenagers hyjacking what is supposed to be a night of fun for smaller children and their parents.
My mother, living on her own, refused to answer the door to the older teenagers who proceeded to bang on the doors and windows. When they got no joy, they thought it would be funny to rub oranges all over her windows and door and brickwork.
Speaking to the lady next door to her, she spent the night in the back room of the house in the dark.
This is not what Halloween is supposed to be about.
Don't get me wrong, there is nothing wrong with young and older children having fun on Halloween, but there is a difference between one persons "having a laugh" and another persons fear.
I propose that next year it could be possible to position a few good people at intervals along manse way for just a few hours from say 6pm till 9pm nothing aggressive or vigilante, just a presence should be enough just as a reassurance to our elderly community

Hi
I am happy to help out next year, maybe we could do something similar on mischief night too?

I believe there was a certain disruptive element around this Halloween - especially by the woods.
I also know that the police were called and spoke to a gang of kids in the woods and confiscated eggs from them.

Hi
With Halloween fast approaching and given what happened last year, is anyone up for making this year safer by having an adult prescence at key areas on the estate? It may also deter those that may want to ruin it for others?
This was suggested in earlier post.
