You have a good memory for names Neil. I'm afraid that I cannot add any but I do remember that about that time, George 'Spike' Rannard, the History Master at Keighley Boys' Grammar School was playing on the right wing. A very dapper player he was. I had the good fortune to be seated next to him at a recent KBGS Old Boys' Re-union and we spoke about his time at Sutton United. He told me that he didn't stay long at Sutton, progressing shortly afterwards to play with Keighley Town. He smiled when he recollected his soccer days with Sutton United. He said that he 'laiked' for Sutton United and 'turned out' for Keighley Town! He is still fit and well though several years into his 90's. I asked him if he found it possible to keep himself occupied in his retirement [30 years plus!] He told me that he had just started to learn Russian! |

I knew that if anyone would be able to name them, Palf would. I am surprised though that he has missed Frank Barrett (peering over shoulder on the back row on the right as you view it) and Barrie Pearce's dad (on the very back with specs.) I'm surprised that Barrie hasn't filled some names in. Thanks for the other names Neil, I knew several but could not remember first names. Keep trying and we will get there between us. |

Thanks again Paul. Neil, could the man on the left with a button hole, be Wilf Mount? He was the man with the sponge at that time. Alan. |

Sorry Alan I had seen Frank Barrett & Bob Pearce, but I was more concerned with the players. I think the man in the middle of the back row is Leonard Monkhouse, & I thought it was Colin Coulton at the right hand side. I think the man L/hand front is Fred Hopkinson |

Hi Neil, Alan etc I could be wrong but I think that the two players standing between Roy Hardaker and the Goalkeeper could be Ronnie (Spin) Barrrett and Sydney Hannam - what do you think?
