Holme Lea, Sutton
I have a postcard dated 4th October 1904 to my grandfather in Cowling. The text says "Kindly have the Rose Trees &c ready for Noah Hargreaves on Friday next. Will you please label and prune them all" It is signed "T Thornton, Holme Lea, Sutton" (It could also be read as J or I Thornton).
Just my curiosity, but I wondered if anyones knows who the sender, T Thornton, might have been, and was "Holme Lea" a residence of significace in the village? Thanks. |
