Message from Brenda Parsons
Brenda Parsons asked me to pass on the following:
I just wanted let people know that my brother and sister have both died over the past year as there might still be people living in the area who would have known them and who would like to know.
My brother was Geoffrey Happs, born in Sutton on 5th August 1933 and died in Doncaster on 28th December 2017. His funeral took place in Doncaster on 5th February 2018.
My sister was Barbara Bailey (nee Happs), born in Sutton on 23rd April 1929 and died in Tickhill on 23rd October 2018. Her funeral took place in Doncaster on 15th November 2018.

My memories of Geoffrey Happs are vague now. It must be 75 years since we used to play together in the Park, but we were contemporaries! We sort of lost touch when I went to the Grammar School in Keighley. Sorry to read that he’s passed away, but i’m afraid that there isn’t much time left for the boys and girls of our era. David Baxter, Michael Peat are two more who played in the Park during the War Years and they too have gone. |
