Keighley Schools Heritage Open Day
There's an exhibition of local school memorabilia, including Sutton schools, at Keighley Library on Saturday 20th April 2013.

Been this morning and had a look. Very impressive selection of pictures well collated and displayed. I was surprised to find that none of those on display are featured in the web site, nearly 30 of them. I spoke to the gentleman responsible for formulating the display and asked if he would let you have them, Paul for inclusion sometime. There were photos of teachers that I do not have, included in the class photos, ie Miss Alderson and Miss Kitchener. There is also one photo of a class from 1947 with the teacher, a Mr. Kitchener?. I cannot remember him at all although I must have been at the school when he was there. Mr. Haggart was the one I remember along with Stanley Bell who came in my last year at the school. David Laycock features on several and is easily recognisable.
Hope that you manage to obtain the copies referred to.
Anyone who is able and interested will find it well worth a look. |
