Link road from Colne to Aire Valley talks again
Not sure how official this is but the T&A has published an article re the talks between Bradford met and Nth Yorkshire to see how much support there is for the link road between Colne and the Aire Valley in order to provide a Nth Lancs/Bradford route. This was shelved many years ago. Have we now got something else to fight, to protect our village against the self interest of others who have no connection to the village. If this is a real proposal surely the bottleneck through Colne and the even bigger bottleneck through Nab Wood,Saltaire and Shipley need to be resoved first.....if that is indeed possible.

Any update on this subject? Is there a possibility of building a dual carriageway motorway ( I presume this would be the sought after solution ) from Colne into the Aire valley without clearing swathes of Cowling/Glusburn/Sutton/Crosshills? Unless, of course the preferred solution would be to cut through Earby, Thornton in Craven, Elslack and Carleton! It's a non starter surely! |
