I think the missing name may be Mr. Irvin Thompson. He was one of the sons of Mr. Walter Thompson of the Woodturners. No doubt he was a school governor. |

And the big guy on on whose lap you sit Janet, is John Stanley's father, William Bell, who features in quite a few photos which are posted in the gallery. He was the village policeman during the war from 1943 to 1946. He was a member of Sutton Parish Council and served as Chairman. He was a manager of the Glusburn Area Primary Schools, a Governor of South Craven Secondary School, a member of the Craven Executive for Further Education and on the Board of Managers for Sutton National School. He was big in Education! |
