Carols in the Park
Any idea what date this is...and of course the big 'switch on' of the lights. I loved this event last year... it is so wonderful to have these events on our doorstep.
Thanks

Hi Sally. I'm only guessing, but I suspect that "Carols in the Park" will be incorporated into the "Journey to Bethlehem" on 16th December - see details on the News and Events page. Paul |

Hi Sally The lights around Sutton will come on at 3.30pm on 1st Dec. These are the ones that are paid for and put up by the Village Committee. As I understand it, the lights in the park, which are done by the Parish Council, are to be switched on by the Fun Day queen on 8th Dec. The BIG switch on is on Rowan Garth on Dec 2nd. Festivities start at around 6pm with mince pies £1(including a free glass of mulled wine). Silsden Town Band will play carols and the collection on the night will go to them. A collection box (emptied regularly!!) will be left up and all proceeds from that will go to the Yorshire Air Ambulance. My husband John, whose legs if not his life were saved by the Air Ambulance will do the official switch on. You will be made welcome Sally - bring your friends and family. All welcome!!! |

Carols in the Park and switching on the Park lights will be on Saturday 8th December at 6pm. The two local school choirs will be leading the carol singing. The event on 16th December at 4pm will also be worth attending - the first time the local churches have tried this outdoor event. Come dressed in Biblical costume if you can - but if not - come anyway! (As Paul says -see News and Events page). |
