This is torture, it is so wrong, how many times must we object. How many times can the developers keep on and on resubmitting plans before they give up. I feel like screaming. Perhaps we should now form a committee which deals with any new developments like this, if we have enough people we can be organised re leafleting, keeping people in the loop and attending any planning meetings etc. |

Elaine - the developers will probably carry on submitting indefinitely in the hope the number of objections will decrease as people get tired of writing objection letters.
I would imagine there will probably be a series of resubmissions with small amendments and we will have to be on the ball to get objections in, particularly as it seems to be a hit and miss affair as to which neighbours are informed by letter by CDC. I found about this resubmission from a FB group and this forum. |

New application from Snell Developments for 32 Houses on Thompsons Field (66/2017/17893)
This outline application is a major development proposal, but does not accord with the development plan in force and would affect the route of a public right of way,see notice opposite Bridge Road.
On cursory inspection I cannot see any major difference but am checking up with Mark Moore to see what differences there are.
The Developers hope that by continuously resubmitting plans they can wear us down. They cannot, we are made of sterner stuff!
We have until the 21st April to make our objections known. So please resubmit your objections before that date via planningcommentscravendc.gov.uk or Mark Moore, Planning Services, 1 Bell Vue Square, Broughton Road, SKIPTON, BD23 1FJ

I have received a 'book standard reply' to my email to CDC Planning Dept. asking what differences there are between the original and the new Thompson's Fields application. They say they do not have the time nor resources and therefore will not enter into any discussion on the matter.
So it is up to us to resubmit our objections, which I believe are vital and can sway the Planning Committee. I have resubmitted mine so would ask everyone who put in objections last time to do so again please. Anyone who did not it would be useful if you could send in your objections (see my note above)
Thank you for giving this matter your support. We live in rural village as set out so strikingly in the CDC Logo and do not wish to live in an urban sprawl and be affected by already lack of infrastructure, healthcare, school and sewage resources, etc. that this development will make even worse.Regards Brian Sanderson |

I'm not sure if everyone who commented to CDC has received this, but I received the following via email today about an informal hearing on 2nd August with an Inspector from the Planning Inspectorate:-

I have been asked to speak and object to this new development at the hearing next Wednesday 2 August 10 am.
It is vital that we as residents show our objections to this scheme and show up in force.
Ideally we should send out a 'information sheet' giving the details about the hearing and ask people to attend. I can draft out an 'information sheet'. This will need printing and distributing. Can anyone help out? Please contact me on 07931 312579

There is a major housing crisis in the UK. Thus the Government pressure to build on any available land is very strong, hence the developers have appealed to the Government Planning Inspector.

I would be able to print some leaflets I only have a small printer but I guess every little helps I think you have the measure as to the problems more housing would incur I live off the high street and it really is a rat run I take my grand children to school each morning and you really do chance your arm so more traffic would make the high street worse |

I am drawing the above ‘Hearing’ to your attention as the proposed building of 32 houses/drives as well roads and parking on Thompson’s Field will I am certain have an adverse effect and increase the risk of flooding on our estate.
There is an informal hearing concerning Snell Developments appeal to the Government re the failure to get planning permission for 32 houses on Thompson’s Field opposite Bridge Street. The development was dismissed by the Government Inspector in 2012 for a planned 53 house development. The reference to the original application by Snell Developments is 66/2016/17442 and the appeal ref. is APP/C2707/W/17?166843

Dear All,
as I understand it, this planning application was in before the Local Plan Consultation document came out, and had already been put forward for appeal. With the new recommendations for housing within Sutton, the Green Wedge policy and derogation of this field, and that it is not on the preferred list of sites (there are none for Sutton now), and that it has been rejected before by the Inspectorate, (on Green Wedge) all these stand in our favour. All previous letters of objection to the application made prior to the appeal will automatically be put forward to the Inspectorate. Additionally the Parish Council will no doubt have put forward a strong objection. |

Hi, I think the deadline for submitting written comments will have passed, it will be down to in person comments now, although I believe only a certain number of people will be able to speak. I'd suggest contacting the clerk of Sutton Parish Council to see what the process is |
