sutton hostel girls on a day trip to blackpool
to andrew monkhouse,the girl directly behind your mum second from the right is venus taylor.your mum will probably remember my wife jean halliday and her sister kathleen who were at the hostel the same time.as your mum.i remember your mum betty and your dad jacob very well we both llived in the same back street opposite the institude.best wishes geoff. |

Thank you Geoff for your comments and for identifying Venus Taylor. It's always great to be able to put a missing name to a face, a task which will doubtless become more difficult with time as this photo is nearly 60 years old.
Yes my parents lived in Mill Street opposite the Institute in my grandparents (Old Ike's) house for a while, probably 1952 after they got married. My mum died in 1978, my Dad last year.
