Mr Barrie Pearce and his sky dive
If you read the Village News you will no doubt have lamented along with Barrie and his lack of tea bags at the X Hills Football tea room on a Saturday afternoon!!! Big awww!!
Barrie joined X Hills Football Club back in 1951 and played for them for many years. When he stopped playing ( think it was a groin injury carrying tea bags ) he was still instrumental within the club as Chairman and although not in that position now, he still plays a large part in Fundraising for the Club.
In June of this year he will be doing a sponsored tandem skydive, along with his son and grandson.....three generations! We are enormously proud of Barrie ( he will be 74 in April ) and his family for throwing themselves out of a plane....!
If you would be interested in helping Barrie with sponsorship, please feel free to call into the Kings Arms. Any monies will be gratefully received.
Many thanks......Sue xx |

Well done Barry - when you played football I remember you didn't wear your glasses.
make sure you wear them on the Skydive so you can see the ground before you land.
Seriously you are a brave guy - I guess its a great event for the family as well as for Crosshill (yc) AFC which you and your father before you have served long and well.
I'll send a donation of course.

Barrie Pearce a man of many talent's and a gentleman. Known him since i was a kid and he came round to the house for the insurance money, it was always on a thursday because it was the day my mother would be baking. She would make pie's of different varieties and cakes plus all manner of other goodies, but she always made a little something for barrie, hope them cakes hav'nt caught up with you and your sky dive go's ok.
