Thanks for the Bus photos. The one on the postcard already appears on the website as the subject of a poem written by me some years ago. At least we now know that two postcards were sold no doubt by the Post office. Mine was posted to me in Malaya in 1957. |

Hi Alan, yes I'd previously mentioned to the webmaster that your bus postcard was already in the gallery. But I asked if my copy of the same card could be included with the other bus photos, just to keep them all together.
That said, nothing could match the magnificent poem you wrote to accompany your postcard! It's brilliant.
Interested to hear you received yours when you were in Malaysia. The first thing that popped into my head was General Service Medal with Malaya clasp! I'm assuming you were serving as a National Serviceman and received the above medal? |

Yes I received the GSM Malaya along with many others who saw service out there. I was also presented about two years ago with the Pingat Jasa Medal. This was given by the Malay Government to all who served after Independence in 1957. Amongst those at the medal presentation in the War Museum in Leeds was Barrie Pearce.
I didn't think that you would be old enough to remember so far back. |
