Shirley now lives in N. London and remembers playing with the girls in the back street!
Dad, who at nearly 93 is still living and a resident of Sutton Hall Nursing Home on the old Bairstow's site, sends his regards. Sadly, mum died 18 months ago.

Hi again Michael. Eileen is in Foulridge, you may have seen either her paintings around the district exhibitions,or more than likely her husband's paintings, William Hobson ... Cath is in Welford, Bruce is in Sydney and I am on the Sunshine Coast QLD. so we are all spread around the place. I think I have a photo with Shirley on it with the other kids on the wall with Miss Jessie, so far I haven't found it but when I do I will ask Paul to post it. Thanks for your response and kind regards to everyone.

BTW - if you haven't seen them already, there are a lot of class photos of CP School on this site - I know Shirley is in a couple 1958 and 1961... There could be more.

Hi,
I am looking for burials of family members who may have been buried at the Sutton Bapt. Chapel. They died in 1950's and 1960. Does anyone know if the churcyard was still open to burials during that time and, if so, are there burial records available? Their names are HAYWOOD (one remarried and would be called LUND). |

Our trees have many common ancesters.
Gertrude Haywood, Nee Nutter, after her first husband John died went on to marry Isaac Lund of cowling........you can tie the rest in from my public ancestry account.
The original Baptist chapel was quite a magnificent building, as can be seen on the gallery section of this web-site, but was demolished and replaced by the building it is today. All the imposing headstones were removed from the front and it was grassed over.
I'm embarrassed to say that the Graveyard (what's left of it) is in serious need of repair before it's lost forever. To enter the area of the remaining plots one has to ignore the warning notice and climb over the entrance gate. This must be done with a good friend and before dusk!
