Baptist Church
My Husband's Great Grandparents Benjamin Morgan and Margaret Scott were married at Baptist Chapel in Sutton in 1894. On the Marriage Ceritificate I have it says that Marriage Solemnized at The Baptist Chapel, Hilme Bridge, Sutton in the District of Keighley. Is this Chapel still standing? Is there anywhere I could find photo's? Thank you Cathy C |

Hi Cathy
The Baptist Chapel was at Holme Bridge. The current South Craven Baptist Church, on the same site, is a modern building. I don't have details to hand but will try and find out more. Have a look at "Smith Family History" on the Links page on this site. It's a link to a site that contains many references to the Baptist Chapel.
Hope this helps.

Paul,Thanks for replying, letting me know it was Holme Bridge, and that a new Church is now standing on the original site. Thanks for pointing me in the direction of the Smith Family History link - more info there too! I am currently compiling a family history for My Mother in Law for her 80th Birthday - and this info has been really useful - think a visit to Keighley Library is called for! Thanks again Cathy |

The old chapel was knocked down some years ago to be replaced with a new building on the same site |
