Sad news
I know there are people who view this site who will remember my brother, Geoffrey Happs, so on his behalf I am so sad to have to tell you that his wife, Jean (nee Halliday) died on 27 Jan 2012 after an 18 month struggle with cancer.
They met in Sutton when Jean came down from Northumberland in the 1940's to work in the mills, she lived at the hostel (in the days of the legendary Miss Cawood).
They were about 15 years old when they met and would have celebrated their 60th wedding at the beginning of March this year.
Geoff's computer has fallen by the wayside so he is offline at the moment but if anyone was thinking of sending him a personal email you can send it to me (Paul will give you my email address) and I will make sure he gets any message that is sent, I know he'd be pleased to hear from you.
