Village Idea for land off Holme Lane (Alvic Field)
Just seen this is up for sale, how wonderful would it be for the village to buy this land and turn it into a CO-OP style allotment area? What do you think Parish Council and fellow villagers? :o) |

It would be a shame to lose this area from the village. |

That's a great idea Nikki. I think it would need the Parish Council to work very pro-actively to make it happen, unless someone steps in to procure the land then sorts out the details later.

Does anyone from the PC read this forum Paul? Would be worth mentioning it to them? It would be great if they could get involved? :o) |

Hi Nikki I had a thought on similar lines to yours when I saw the for sale yesterday. As the song goes "wouldn't it be lovely" if the villagers of Sutton contributed to the purchase of this land and it was made into an edible growing space for young and old alike to get involved. If a town like Todmorden can do it, why can't Sutton? |

Ken, I think "Britannia Homes" own the land I know they bought it around the time Clayton Hall Road estate was built in Cross hills, but they could never get planning permission to build houses on it! |

Take a look at section 3.2. This part of Britannia appears to be in administration.
