Local world war two help for Sutton CP School!
Hi, I'm a teacher at Sutton CP School and am looking for any information about what Sutton and the surrounding areas were like during World War II. Does anyone have any information, photos etc... or know anyone who would be useful to get in touch with? I'd be really grateful! Thank you! Liz Hamer |

Miss Hamer, Photographs are at a minimum for that period as anyone with a camera was a novelty. Many of those who contribute to the Sutton website will be able to help you with memories and if you look back through the various headings in the Forum you will find a few photos and certainly memories listed. Alan Chapman, Niel Palfreman, Denis, Duncan McHenry are all sure to have something to contribute. The webmaster has my 'phone number if you want to make contact. Alan Pickles. |

You could try Keighley Library, it is surprising what they have, but to search through archives you have to book about a day beforehand. |

Cyril Atkinson, I couldn’t quite remember where you fit into my Family Tree, so curiosity FORCED me to dig out the genealogy research and bingo.
I’m pretty sure we’ve never met but you’re the son of my grandmother’s sister. For your reference my father was Jacob (Elizabeth Seward’s son) which I guess made you two cousin’s.
Nice to see another relative on the Sutton forum, Au revoir for now |
