Bankfoot Farm Pictures
I've not visited the site for a while, so it was nice to see the pictures of Bankfoot Farm. My connection with Sutton stems from my father Denis and my uncle Alan. I remember visiting Sutton with my parents, staying with my Grandma on Bent Lane. As a small boy I used to look out her back yard and night and could see Bankfoot Farm up on the hill, lights shining and wondering who lived there. It is such an imposing building that can be seen almost as soon as you leave Skipton and I always looked out for it as we sometimes bypassed Sutton on the way to visit family in the Lakes. Fast forward almost 50 years and my wife and I are regular visitors to Sutton and by happy coincidence stay at Bankfoot, part of which is a holiday let and have become friends with the current owners. The view from the farm over the valley up towards Skipton is one that I will never tire of. Even my wife, who is a London girl at heart has fallen in love with the village and we hope one day to move up from the flat lands of Cambridgeshire. |
