Julian Smith described the area as 'jaw-droppingly beautiful' to a journalist from a national newspaper who was featuring Sutton-in-Craven in an article about planning and the destruction of the countryside. Sadly, the article never made it to print.

We wrote to Julian Smith and he has been , he has taken it up for us and written to the Chief Executive of Craven District Council and the Planning Minister.
But I was disappointed to note in the Council's reply that Mr Smith had only received 8 letters of objection from his constituents...come one Suttoners don't give in,we'll be another 'Elsey Croft'. |

Its infuriating to think that we have to write to Julian as well as object to the Planning Dept in order for the objections to carry any weight - I understood there were plenty of objections made to the application itself. I'll send Julian an email too. |
