Open Garden Event
Dear All, unfortunately for us mad gardeners, St Thomas' Church has had to postpone its biannual 2 day event until 2011. So instead, a couple of us would like to open our gardens for a single day this year too in aid of Manorlands. We think we'll need a minimum of 10 willing gardens in order for it to be feasible. We'll do all the organising, all we need are some more gardens - we have 3 definites and 1 possible at the moment. I thought by putting a note on the forum, some new gardeners might come forward to try it out - its good fun, honest :-). Anyway, the date we have in mind is Sunday July 11th. If anyone is interested, please contact me via the forum, or e-mail the webmaster and he will pass on your details to me. Thanks Liz (PS This isn't a substitute for any event the Church plans to run next year, this is an added extra :-)).

Dear All We have reached the "magic 10" gardens, so the event is definitely on - Sunday 11th July 11am-6pm. Fingers crossed for sunshine. More gardens would be great, so please contact me if you'd like to open so I can include you in the programme.
Thanks Liz |

Dear All
What a successful day we had, and the rain held off. 13 gardens opened with a bonus one in Cedar Grove.
Special thanks to Janice for everything, Angela and Sarah at Hollybank for the amazing street party, Steve and Gail Place for the programme selling, All the gardeners who took part and raised additional funds with refreshments and plant sales, everyone who displayed a poster for us, and everyone for coming along to support the fundraising for Manorlands.
Initial estimate is that we've raised in the region of £1800, which is absolutely fantastic.
We've had some lost property handed in - 3 brollies and a hearing aid have been found. If anyone knows who might have lost these things, please contact me via the website or on 01535 633977.
Vivian - if you read this post, any chance you could put up a little notice in the Post Office about the lost property. Many Thanks |
