Well done Craven Herald & Pioneer!
Today's Craven Herald has the following splashed at the top of the front page:
quote Angry crowd forces council to halt decision on 'growth'
People power came to Craven district Council as residents packed out a meeting to discuss the district becoming a Leeds City Region "Growth Point". The drama came a day after the council narrowly agreed to cut extra funding which had been promised to voluntary groups. end quote
There's a detailed write up of the meeting on page 3.
In addition, all this week they had Stephen Place's quote from last week's article on the home page of their web site and the story about the council u-turn on opposing the Glusburn development was the "editor's choice" story.
Today, the quote on the home page is...
Three years spent on public consultation now appears to have been a total sham if it can be undermined by officers working behind closed doors and then trying to push this through council without any public participation −, Roger Nicholson, chairman of Glusburn Parish Council
...and the editor's choice is the write up of the meeting.
