BLACKOUT ON OUR STREETS/ESTATES!
Hi - just wondering if all Sutton and Cross Hills's estate lights have been switched off to save costs during the hours of approx. 12 midnight - 6 a.m. My gripe is that Cowling has not been officially informed as far as I know - via Craven Herald, village newsletter or our websites. Not everyone can trawl through NYCC's website to find out details, or even knew about it. Pls. also refer to Craven Herald- 24 Sept. page 13 - letter from Peter Taylor of Skipton. Thanks. |

I live in Sutton and the light outside our house has been modified to switch off during the night. |

The lights on the Sheilings estate have been altered so that about four out of five of them go out after midnight.

Thanks for replies - do you know if the "social housing" estates' lights are still on? They are up here, Springwell Close is the old peoples, but Collinge Rd. is only partly council owned these days. We live in a cul-de-sac of 19 houses, and 10 are owned by over 60's with 8 of those people over 70. Approx. 3 younger people go to work during the blackout hours. Hope its all worth it in the end. |

Same on Meadow Lea - it would have been good for the council to mention it. Does this mean our council tax will be reduced?! Ha! |
