Cheers Chris, it's good to hear from global visitors! The December issue of the village newsletter should be available in the next few days, I'll post an update on the homepage if you're interested in downloading a copy.

Hi, Just found this site, fantastic!! I came from Silsden to Melbourne (down under) 43yrs. ago and 2005 was my first visit back, I stayed in Sutton with my relatives for 3 weeks and oh boy what a BEAUTIFUL village. We were made to feel like we belonged by everyone we met and I was sorry to leave, will visit the site regularly now. |

Its a long time since I was last in Sutton-in-Craven, I was married in St Thomas's church in 1965. We left for New Zealand in 1967. but have lived in Queensland Australia since 1988. It is such a treat to see the gallery, and remember things from long ago. and the site is so intresting look forward to my weekly dose of sutton. |

Hi there Paul and you ex Suttoner's, Bruce the Chris Throup you you asked about, did they live up behind the Institute (mill baths)? I seem to remember there were a brother and sister (Jen?) I'm 65 so they would have been a touch younger? I will send a message on the Beck topic also. I had an email from Bruce Grimes a short while ago about his email address change so he is still about in Oz. His sister married a Dennis/Derek Whittaker who I met quite a few years ago. Always interested in hearing the "local" news. Also Paul I am quite happy for any one to receive my email address if they so desire. Regards David |

David, I descend from the Throup family and would very much like to know more about them if you could help. There is a thread in the forum that I started if you would like to see the detail.
Hope you can help.

Hi Mandy, Sorry not to have replied sooner. I don't think I can help much re Throups. I only knew them as a lad of about 15/17+ when we used to go down to the "Institute" to play snooker etc. He (?) came in and played etc. He used to refer to his sister as "our Jen" (ginger hair?). I used to knock about on the Inghams farm as did a lot of others, including ? Throup. Regards David |
