Missing Cat
Hi, my cat has gone missing from Ravenstone Gardens area. Very big white and ginger, answers to Riley. Please check sheds and garages. He never stays away. I am even more worried as we found a dead cat in our garden two weeks ago, no explanation as to why he should have died. Only 8 years old, and we live away from roads. Concerned about possible poisoning. Please be vigilant with your own cats and let me know if anyone hears anything about Riley. Thank-you |

Sorry to hear that, Liz. Hope he's soon back safe and well. Meanwhile I'll keep a look out for him round the back of Main Street by the Sand Park as I know all the cats that are usually around here so I'd recognise a stranger.

Thanks David for contacting me. Everyone, unfortunately the cat at Sutton Court is not Riley, he's more ginger and is much smaller than Riley. Please keep looking, and can everyone check their outbuildings for any signs of him. Thank-you |

I still haven't seen any sign of Riley around the Sand Park area, but I'm still looking out for him. And please don't give up hope. Our Bradley - who looked very much like Riley - once went missing for eight days. It turned out he was only a few doors away down North Street. He'd jumped into the cellar, but couldn't get back out through the window, but he went up into the house when the people were at work and so they didn't know he was there until someone else saw him looking out of the front window and came to tell me. We then opened the cellar window a bit wider and he made his own way out - with the biggest meow I've ever heard. Have you contacted all the local vets and animal shelters? Cats are very resilient and can cope on their own, so long as they can find food, water and shelter. Homer, who adopted us many years ago, lived rough for four and half months - October to February - before he decided he'd like to live with us, though we never could trace his original owners as he wasn't chipped and nobody round about knew him. So, I'll keep on looking for Riley and hoping that he turns up soon.

Hi Hazel, yes contacted vets and kennels, RSPCA, Cats Protection, he's all over Facebook on various pages, plus posters and leaflet drops. He just seems to have vanished, but where? I have leafleted over 150 households to check their outbuildings so fingers crossed he is trapped somewhere. I fear the worst though, as well as the dead cat there have been three large birds dead in the gardens up near us, with no apparent reason. I'm fearful that they may have been poisoned either intentionally, or accidentally. I am keeping everything crossed for Riley, but its so out of character for him, he's never done anything like this in over 5 years, hence why I am so worried. Thank-you for keeping your eyes open for him. Liz |

Hi Denise, no unfortunately not, absolutely no sign of him anywhere. I am so sad, and his brother is really lonely. Thank-you for asking. |
