Just received notice that the application for the 30 plus houses on what was known as Thompson Field , Holme Lane will be discussed on February 13 at 1.15pm at the planning office on Broughton Rd. The Public can attend but only one person from each of the interested parties may speak against i.e. One from Parish Council and one from objectors. This application in its various forms has be turned down several times but we can't risk the application getting through through. Please attend the meeting if you can, we are hoping to be there, family commitments permitting. |

As only one person is allowed to object we need a co-ordinated approach. Could those interested or anyone already on to this please ring me on 07931 312579 Thank you Brian Sanderson (Objector) |

Hi all, had a look at the details on this. The Planning meeting will unfortunately not determine the application as it looks like the Planning Department have not determined it in sufficient time and the applicant has gone to appeal to the Planning Inspectorate in Bristol for non-determination. So, as with Sutton Lane, this will be determined by the government Inspectorate. CDC Planning Department are recommending to the Committee to agree with their recommendation to refuse permission on the same grounds as before, the Green wedge - this is why it is on the agenda at the next meeting. If I've read the documentation correctly, the decision is out of Craven's hands. |

Why must these things turn into a war of attrition? Development proposed, opposition build a case, development denied, development changed by a hair, development resubmitted, opposition build another case, development denied, development changed by two hairs etc etc.
Will the inspectorate view everything that has been said before? They will need a lot longer than an afternoon to read all the objections! As for a meeting in the middle of the afternoon on a working day? How are we supposed to show support?
The land should be designated as green belt ad infinitum. Thank you all once again for your continued campaigning.

Hi Dave Monday's Craven District Planning Committee meeting is just to determine whether the Committee agree with the Planning Department's advice for refusal. This will then form part of the evidence that the Planning Inspectorate review at a later date. All previous correspondence relating to THIS application (not others) plus any previous planning history, so the other appeal, will be considered by the PI. They also usually make a site visit. I believe you may still make representation to the Planning Inspectorate yourself if you're within the timescale. I had a look on the Craven Planning portal but there is no mention of the appeal for non-determination, so I can't tell you what the date is unfortunately. Normally, if you have put in a formal objection already, you should receive a letter telling you about the appeal, so the details will be on there. |

The meeting was I thought very well attended, we were the second proposal to be heard, the first one was for 65 houses and Industrial Units to be built at Settle, this was voted against, I am glad to say. Ours was dealt with much faster, The representative from the Parish Council and a gentleman spoke up for the case to be dismissed and the Planning Committee also voted to have the proposal dismissed, their views and ours will go to Planning Inspectorate in Bristol I believe, if I have got anything incorrect please correct. |

Great news, thanks for the update. Lets keep our fingers crossed. I seem to remember something being mentioned about determining green space in the area, is that still ongoing? |
