Maurice Atkinson's infrequent walks up the Clough
Hi, I enjoyed Maurice's photographs and am interested to know why he hadn't been up there for so long and also if there were any significant changes which he noticed. |

I lived in Crosshills. I got married in 1960, moved to Keighley in 1961 and never really went back! I didn't notice any real changes apart from a few safety features on the bridges across the beck, but then again 45 years is a long time! The "stinking lilies" were still there I'm glad to say! I did not see a single crisp packet, sweet wrapper or discarded cigarette packet on my walk----- does someone clean up in the Clough? It's a credit to Sutton. |

Oh I see, I thought you might have emigrated! Glad to hear that it is still basically the same. Not sure if anyone does a litter-pick in the Clough. I'd like to think that there was no need for it but I expect that someone does clean up.
Hope you make it back here again, don't leave it so long next time! |
