Library Volunteers needed
South Craven Community Library, based at Crosshills, will be run by the local community from April 2017.
North Yorkshire County Council will still be supporting the library, but the overall running of the library will be done by volunteers.
The library is open on five days per week and we still need more volunteers to cover all sessions.
Training is available and there are a number of roles:
General Library Support Volunteer Helping users, signing up new members, stock management etc.
Specific Projects / Activities Such as homework clubs, story time, book sales, fundraising, book sales etc.
Computer Support Helping members use the library’s computers, offering advice and support as needed.
Benefits of Volunteering
Our volunteers tell us that the benefits for them are:
- Meeting new people and making new friends - Satisfaction of providing a valuable service - Supporting the local community - Developing and learning new skills
