Hi Jack I remember you and your family living in North Street and moving to Scotland. Both you and your brother were good sportsmen playing cricket for Sutton and football at Crosshills. The passage of time plays havoc with the memory however I have to the best of my ability tried to give the info on the members of the two teams as I know, not having lived in the village for many years does make it difficult. 1957 team.Robert Holmes, George Burfitt, Les Traynor all live in the Craven area while Malcolm Preston, David Laycock and David Hustwick are in the Keighley area. John Yelland emigrated to Australia in the 1960's and sadly John Parkin has passed away. Could the unknown person listed as 104 be David Laycock who contributes to the forum from Australia?. The team 1958 David Town, Alan Dickinson, Tony Pickles, George Burfitt, Richard Bramley, Alan Palfreman and Derek Hough live within the area, however regarding players on both teams I have not mentioned I have no information. Sadly I do know that both Andrew Wilson and John Jackson passed away several years ago. I trust that this helps you Jack and my information is correct. Lets hope that 2021 can be a better year for every one and the country can return to some kind of normality. Best wishes for the New Year. |

Good afternoon David, and Jack, and the Seasons greetings for 2021 from David Laycock in Melbourne Australia. I'm in a couple of class photos with Mrs Wilson and Mrs Belton 1952. also a school football team with John Bell. I have seen a few photos with my "ring in" but it's not me. My Cousin John Laycock may be able to help. Cheers David (G'dai) Laycock |

Hello again, David Laycock Melbourne here. Just been thinking about the previous question from Jack, and indicated I was in another photo of the Sutton CP team of 1953 school football team. Which raised the question of how many of that team are still around, as I heard from My cousin John that one member, Barry Turnbull, had just recently died. Any offers to let me know, if you are still around???? Regards from a 79yrs in January David. |

Calling Jack Morrison, Jack, The question that I seek an answer to has no relation to the football photographs. Mention of your family living in North Street brought back memories. Your brother George, was in the same class at the primary school and often comes to mind. Is he still around and did he move to Scotland with the other members of your family? I cannot remember seeing him after I returned home from National Service but memories do tend to disappear into thin air after a while. Hope that I have not caused a problem on this item site.
