No really Paul credit were credit is due! Sometimes "village" websites start off as a good idea by someone with the good idea and many times they end up out of date and pointless. More people should help put their village website in the public eye by telling friends plugging it whenever possible and using it themselves. Cowlingweb already has a good head of day to day users and many people who help with content which as you will know is what keeps things ticking over.
I do visit here from time to time and really do enjoy clicking round the new items and I have seen it grow over the years! To make that happen needs the bloke doing the uploading the updates. That people is Paul!
Streaming Video ? *Wink Twice* |

It's quite true Mark, that a lot of hard work and dedication is required to initiate AND maintain enthusiasm for a project such as a village web-site. Your efforts definitely do not go unnoticed are frequently recognised via messages to the forum
Your message spurred me to browse the Cowlingweb pages for the first time. Quite a different format to the Sutton site, both sites being very interesting in their own right, presentation and styles. I have also viewed the Keighley web-site (http://www.keighleyhistory.org.uk/) in previous months, again quite different in format and presentation.
I’m unfamiliar with the jargon ‘video streaming’ but am assuming you are referring to the idea of amalgamating the 13 segments of the 1959 cine footage of Sutton to make one continuous film. Would be good provided Paul has the right equipment to stream all the segments together, but I suspect Paul would have already done so if it were possible.
I was wondering, both Paul and Mark, if it is possible to have a ‘slide-show’ facility when viewing numerous photo’s such as the Sutton FUNDAY snaps, or the Cowling Scenery Gallery ? A slide-show feature would enable us to sit back with a sandwich in one hand, a ‘tinnie’ in the other and not have to fiddle with the mouse when viewing all of the great photo’s on display – only a suggestion !
Keep up the wonderful work fella’s, you’ve got a lot of appreciative supporters out there.

Yes I totally agree with Andrew and may I also commend you for your efforts and the time you must put into updating and maintaining the web site.
Even though I now live and work in Oz, my roots and memories are in the village and thanks to the website and it's forum I can keep up to date with the pulse of the village. I would think there are a lot of other people out there that are thankful for an instant connection from an armchair (having a quiet beer) right to the heart of the issues of the village.
Some of the issues and passion shown in the comments of people contributing to the forum about what happens in the village also have to be commended.
I am a regular visitor to the forum and really enjoy reading the friendly banter in some of the ongoing issues. Are we really going to have eco-warriors and chains in the park! Now that's passion!! Paul could your technology extend to a live satellite feed for us that can't be there for the possible protest!!
Keep up the good work Paul. Bruce |

Cheers Bruce! If it comes to it, we'll have to see if Sky turn up with an outside broadcast unit. |
