Isaac Wilkinson Foulds, Sutton United AFC, 1909
Hi, interesting photo addition to the gallery of Isaac Wilkinson Foulds, stood with a Sutton United AFC 1908-09 football at his feet.
It looks like Isaac was exclusively a Colne lad, born there in 1883, married there in 1904. Still living in Colne at the time of the 1911 census.
I've checked the pre-WW1 Sutton football team photos in the Glyn Whiteoak Collection and cannot see his name in any of the team photos.
Can anyone offer an explanation why he would be posing in a photograph with a Sutton United football at his feet in 1909 when he was from Lancashire? Isaac's grandson who provided the photo believes he may have been the captain of Sutton United AFC. Thanks in advance for any thoughts. |
