Floods
Hi Im holiday at the moment and heard of the bad flooding in the yorkshire area. I live in the Hawthorns and was wondering if the beck is holding up or has there been flooding to the area. If there has how bad?

Hi Paul. I live on the Hawthorns too and I'm relieved to say there wasn't any flooding (not that I'm aware of anyway). The beck filled right up but didn't overflow and the level has now dropped quite a bit.
Holme Lane flooded in the dip between the park and the Baptist Church/Thompson's Field and was closed for several hours but it's all back to normal now.

The footbridge into the park totally dissappeared!
