Sutton Boys' Brigade Annual Reunion.
The 4th annual reunion will be held at the Kings Arms in Sutton on Thursday 27th Sept, from 8pm onwards. Pie and Pea supper, all ex-members welcome including wives and former Girls Life Brigade Members.

I was wondering if anybody knows whether the Boys Brigade trophies from the 60s & 70s still exist ? Are they still on display in a chapel cabinet maybe, or did they get ditched when the BB folded ?
I remember winning one in 1968 at a presentation evening in the old chapel building for attaining the highest marks in the scripture exams that year. It was great, it seemed huge at the time and had my name engraved on a little plaque along with all the other names from previous years. On top of that, my Dad gave me half a crown - ripper !
The trophy was retained (displayed on top of the piano) for 12 months before being handed back ready for the following year's presentation event. |
