Italian girls at the hostel
Hi, Does anyone have any photos of any Italian girls who lived at the hostel ?
My wife, Pina, is Italian and we had several friends who lived at the hostel.
Here' hoping.

Gilda - later Smith lives in Cowling - a lovely person - you might know her. She has said she didn't know a word of English when she came here. |

Thanks, Joan. Pina doesn't remember a Gilda. Pina came over in 1954 to Burley-in-Wharfedale and she spoke no English. I was a spinning overlooker in Burley and I had 7 Italian girls in my section, none of them speaking a word of English - it was a NIGHTMARE !!! |
