Lost Signs
It was great to see the restoration of the way stone at the top of West Lane. Thanks to all those involved.
I am sure there was an equally lovely old signpost on the opposite corner, which seems to have been replaced by a modern, characterless version. Did I dream it?
The old signs have so much charm, it wouldn't happen in a conservation area. Such a shame. I wonder where it is now... |

Thanks Dave. It was a pleasure to be involved in the restoration of the guide post to a position of prominence on the cross roads. It had previously been placed upside down in a garden wall at Four Lane Ends and to all intents and purposes was 'lost'. It is a bit of village history on a now forgotten, but once important, route from Keighley to Settle. |
