What is Home-Start?
Home-Start is a national voluntary organisation offering informal, friendly support to parents who have at least one child under the age of five and who live in Craven.
Being a parent, wherever you live, whatever your circumstances, isn't always easy and we are happy to offer volunteer support to suit the needs of the individual family. This might be in the form of a listening ear, accompanying to groups or appointments, practical support of signposting to other agencies to support specific needs.
Our volunteers come from all backgrounds and offer non-judgemental, weekly support to their allocated family. We deliver a volunteer preparation course and support both volunteers and families at regular intervals to make sure that the help we are offering is always relevant. All volunteers are DBS checked.
If you or anyone you know can spare a couple of hours a week to become a friend to a young parent in need and make a real difference to both the parents' and children's lives, please get in touch.
